Install guide

Install Starlink from the box to a live connection.

Watch the mounting walkthrough, then follow the steps for the kit you ordered. Most home kits install with the Starlink app; roof, marine, or vehicle installs may need that model’s mount and safety gear.

How to mount and start Starlink

Watch the mounting walkthrough, then follow the steps for your kit: open sky, secure the mount, connect cable and power, and finish in the Starlink app.

  1. Open the box and check the parts

Match the dish, router or built-in Wi-Fi, cable, power, and mount to your product page.

  2. Find a clear view of the sky

Use the obstruction tool in the Starlink app to pick the install spot; trees, walls, and masts weaken the signal.

  3. Secure the mount, cable, and power

Tighten the mount, route the cable without sharp bends, and connect power. Not every model has motorized auto-alignment.

  4. Go online in the app and activate the plan

Create the Wi-Fi network. If you are not online yet, buy a monthly plan and record the kit serial or account email on the order-tracking page.

Standard and actuated

A Standard kit is enough for a flat roof. Pitched roofs or snow usually need the actuated mount. Order the home plan separately.

Mini and flat travel kit

Place Mini on a tripod or flat surface with a sky view. The flat travel kit mounts on a van or RV and pairs with a land roam plan.

Business

Office and fixed site

Fixed install with a sky view, cable to the office router or switch, and a business Priority plan. See the Ethernet adapter for a public IP option.

Maritime

Vessel and ocean route

Deck install and a maritime plan are required. A home plan is not a substitute at sea. Mechanical install is the vessel owner’s job; StarPing handles service activation.
